What's in a name?

I don't know about you, but when it came time to pick names for our children, I had a terrible time finding ones I liked - and my husband was just as bad (if not worse) than I was!  It was important, essential even, that our littles had names with valuable meaning.  After all, your name belongs to you forever.  It defines you.  It's your personal imprint on this world.

There were only two girl names and one boy name that Dave and I could agree on - this was before we were even thinking about growing our family - and those are now the names that our three children have today.

Isabella Faith:
Isabella means "consecrated to God" while Faith is defined as "believing and trusting in God." When you combine the two names together - it means that...

Abigail Grace:
Abigail means "father's joy" and Grace stands for "God's unmerited favor."  Together they signify...

Aidan Gordon Omari:
Aidan is a male variation of Eden - meaning "paradise" - while Gordon (a family name) paints the picture of a "strong fortress." And, since he is our hope-to-be adopted son, I feel it is important for him to keep Omari - a variation of O'hmari (which was what his biological mom had chosen to use as his middle name on the original birth certificate) meaning "God the highest."  When united...

For each of my kids, their name meanings have also become my daily prayer:
  • I desire for Bella to trust in God at all times - and for Him to use her for His glory! 
  • With all that Abbi's little body has experienced, and continues to go through, I want her to feel God's kindness and experience His joy. 
  • Aidan will grow up learning what a personal relationship with Jesus looks like - a relationship I hope he one day embraces for himself!

We are three weeks away from our Disney 2015 vacation, and our house is buzzing with excitement.  It truly is one of the most magical places on earth.  Even my husband, who was once a skeptic, agrees that it's a one-of-a-kind experience! In Christ Alone - This Wife's Perspective on Cancer

The song "In Christ Alone" has been a favorite of mine since I was young, and as an adult it has held me up through some of the most challenging moments!
