Far Above Rubies

In the eyes of this "little" girl there are few who measure up to my dad.  He has spent my entire life serving in ministry.  First as a missionary and then as a pastor.  He is devoted to touching the lives of the people around him and to being the most godly man he can be.  However, caring for our family has always been his first priority. From the time I was a little girl I knew two things. 1. I wanted to get married. 2. I wanted to be a mom. When I met Dave in high school I knew that we were on our way to making dream number 1 come true.  In November of 2004 it became a reality as we said "I do" and officially began our life together. While I would have loved to have had a baby immediately, we decided to wait a few years.  Dave had just finished college at RIT and I was in my senior year at Roberts Wesleyan.  We needed to have an opportunity to establish ourselves before starting a family. At the beginning of 2008 we began actively trying to get pregnant.  Month after month went by without success.  I was starting to get discouraged and we began to investigate fertility help.  It was a few weeks before that first doctors appointment to discuss our options that we found out we were having a baby!  You can imagine our delight! Today is a special day.  A day to honor the most compassionate, giving and selfless person I know.  A true Proverbs 31 woman... My Mom. If you do not know my mom, then you are missing out on a special relationship.    My entire life she has served in ministry alongside my dad sacrificially and has modeled what it looks like to be a godly wife.
