Farms Stands & Local Markets

It is the middle of May and the time for farm stands is upon us!  I wanted to send a list of the ones I enjoy visiting.  Some are in Wayne County and others in Monroe County.  Regardless of where you live, there's something in your area just waiting for you.  Farm stands/markets are the local and natural way of eating your fruits and veggies, plus they're less expensive than store brands and your supporting the local economy.  Please read Sara's post on Love Your Farming Neighbors for a good overview of farm stands and markets.

    Nice list Cassie!! Maier's in also in Webster on Five Mile Line and Zarpentine's in Hilton on Burritt Rd. Zarp's has GREAT donuts!! I only know about that cause of Cristen :)

In Christ Alone - This Wife's Perspective on Cancer

The song "In Christ Alone" has been a favorite of mine since I was young, and as an adult it has held me up through some of the most challenging moments! In Christ alone my hope is found He is my light, my strength, my song this cornerstone, this solid ground firm through the fiercest drought and storm This morning Dave left the house and headed to get his annual CT scan and blood work done.  On Tuesday, March 10, 2015, we will find out from the oncologist if he is still cancer free.  I would be lying if I said I'm not anxious, because the truth is...the "what ifs" always make me nervous. January 13th. What's the significance?

Everyone has a specific date that holds a special significance in life.  It could be: the day you graduated college, the day you married your best friend, the day you welcomed that beautiful baby into the world, the day the doctors told you about a life long illness, the day you said "goodbye" to a beloved family member or friend, the day you committed your life to Christ, the day you were finally able to retire, etc.  There are many milestones in our lives that are remembered and referred to on our calendars.  In our home, one of those days is January 13th.
